Am I interpreting this correctly, or am I doing something wrong? I would like to get this unit returned as soon as possible if it is defective.OBD Tool technicians have extracted Volvo Vida Dice 2014A software today and shared it for free download here. To me, it would seem as though the DiCE is defective. It responds with the message "Self diagnostic connector is not attached." The cable is attached to the OBD-II port on the car. When running the tests on the DiCE Diagnostic program, it passes the LED test, it passes the memory test, it passes the communication test, but it fails the interface test. The back of the DiCE says that it should be steady orange when connected to the car. However, I do not get any activity from the "Vehicle Interface Status" light. It also has the yellow "USB Com Status" that flashes when it is connected to the computer. When connected and up and running, the DICE has the flashing green "Firmware Status" light as I believe it should.
Today I took the laptop and the DICE to the shop and connected them to the V70. I was successful, however, at getting a program called "DiCE Diagnostic" installed. To make a long story short, I am in the midst of working through some problems with the installation.
I received it yesterday and eagerly started to install it on my laptop. I ordered a DICE tool and VIDA software from eBay.
